I guess I got the new edit deviation page(which is WHITE omfg ) and even though there is a button with "notify your watchers" and I unchecked it, it still seems to appear. D8 </EDIT>

" the little angel who is spreading the hand is Earth's angel, the one who was supposed to deliver the Earth to Heaven when it naturally dies. But due to human negligence and pollution, the Earth's destruction came earlier than expected.The angel who is still immature and not ready, doesn't know what to do. The Earth won't see Heaven. And thus the following drawing came to life. tralala~ " Ok, what on Earth am I even saying…
WHAT CAN YOU DO has a stunning page of simple ways to help :[link] watch the movie HOME >> [link]
~~~ I got this ultimate inspiration from this song (that apparently wasn't with Gackt was I being delusional or what )>>[link] Please try listening to it, you won't regret even a second. I listened it while drawing and was getting ready for a bath in tears.
Ummm this is my first critique so it's not really good...
I love how you did the sky and stars! You can really see and feel the emotions you put into this picture! The only things that I would maybe change is making a better contrast between the balloon and the background around it, and I think that the picture would be more balanced if the balloon was a little to the side! <3 Otherwise the picture is amaizing and great! I really like how the tears add some contrast whit the smoke! And the angel is really cute! Good job Uchuu-chan! I hope my critique was good
Excellent work on this piece! The theme was really interesting, the perspective and position of each part all fit together perfectly. The story behind it is also something we should all consider to help slow down the destruction of the planet. (global warming and all) Color choice is excellent, they all blend well together. I really love that sky, the middle part where the blue, purple, gives off a peaceful, brilliance of light and calamity. and the red that swarms around the earth, threatens to bring destruction. The balloon around the earth is like the Devil, taking away the earth from the Angel's grasp and the angel could do nothing but watch as it floats away. You did absolutely amazing on this art, though i think for the earth, the bottom part could have had some contrast, cause it looks like its shaped like an egg at first glance ><''
Yeah, sorry. I know I shouldn't take this personally. I totally respect your point of view, but I hope you can now respect mine:
This kind of reminds me of the concept of collective guilt. This sentence: "But due to human negligence and pollution, the Earth's destruction came earlier than expected." is what did it. I genuinely don't want this to happen, and I am doing everything I can to prevent it, yet this sentence suggests that it's my fault too since I'm human.
No matter how much pollution mankind pumps into the atmosphere, even if we cut down every last tree and detonate every nuclear bomb ever made, there is just no way we can destroy this planet. In it's past, Earth has dealt with natural disasters much greater than anything we ever made, and it survived. Worst case scenario, we change the climate so much that 90% of life on earth (including us) dies out, but the other 10% (or even 0.01%) will adapt, survive and evolve, and the legacy of life will continue in it's new environment, which will probably change back after a few million years or so, with just as many species as there is today.
Another thing that bugs me is that it suggests that humanity would actually let this happen. In the past I have been coming across a lot of content on this site (and other places) which suggests that humanity is flawed and unchangeable and it will bring upon its own destruction.
I've noticed that a lot of this content comes from countries with powerful governments like America and China. People there seem so convinced that things that are now will stay like this forever, because the atmosphere there is as such. I on the other hand come from a place where everything changes every five minutes, so I don't have such a doomy luck on the world.
I don't know, maybe I just understand human nature better than others, or maybe others don't want to believe me when I say that mankind is not bad, in fact, it's the best! When an animal sees another animal in trouble, his/her first instinct is to ignore it or eat it. Some animals will help others of their kin, while others would torture their pray to death, but I don’t know any other creature on Earth except humans that would consider selflessly saving another creatures life. It’s true that some people wouldn’t do that, but some of us devoted their entire lives to helping other creatures. No other animal considers its actions, let alone the actions of its entire species, the way we do.
We cut down trees, but we plant trees too. Nature would not have created us if it didn’t need us. The only way this planet will be destroyed is when the Sun grows and consumes it. But by then mankind would have safely transported life to a new home, or just towed, or teleported the whole planet to a new star.
There are a lot of problems with mankind right now, but there is nothing that can’t be fixed, but it won’t fix itself, we need to do it, and we want to do it, and we can do it. It’s just art like this that convinces people that we won’t and can’t do it. I know you don’t mean that, but that’s what I see in this picture, and that is why I found it insulting.
I hope I cleared this out now, and I hope you’re not angry with me, because I’m not angry with you, I just can’t stand all the constant pessimism. I actually think you’re a great artist and a neat person; it’s why I follow you.
So, yeah. Sorry for making such an unnecessarily long ran of a comment, but I really needed to get this off my chest. Spam and hide this comment if you don’t like it, I won’t mind.
I read everything, but unfortunately, I'm afraid that I don't hold an advanced deep vocabulary to reply at all.
mankind is not bad, in fact, it's the best!
I see we're coming from totally different places.
It’s just art like this that convinces people that we won’t and can’t do it. I didn't mean that at all, and I'm pretty sure the humans who ignore this planet aren't really influenced by art. If they were, I believe they could see what this drawing truly suggests. there's no time to wait for "us" to change...
Worst case scenario, we change the climate so much that 90% of life on earth (including us) dies out, but the other 10% (or even 0.01%) will adapt, survive and evolve, and the legacy of life will continue in it's new environment, which will probably change back after a few million years or so, with just as many species as there is today.
>> and would that be "ok"? "acceptable"? "there's nothing we can do about it"...? If humans change the climate so drastically that 90 % of the life on Earth dies out, then it's already unacceptable for me. Humans will die and that would be what we deserved, however for the animals/plants/oceans to end by the hand of humans like that, "pooof" and be pretty optimist about it is something I cannot do. "It will prosper again after few million years" yes, but our "now" would be forever lost.
I'm not angry at all, and I'd hope you're not as well. I know many have different opinions/feelings/experiences, and I just had to reply in my way. I'm truly sorry if I wrote something even more insulting for you, but in my case, I just can't see it that way.
And I'm terribly sorry for not responding it all, I would just love to ask you to watch the movie "home" It's free on youtube. >>> [link] and also this image >>>> [link] for me, this image quite hurts. For you? Thank you very much.
I misunderstood what you meant by “planet”. For me, a planet is just a giant round rock which may or may not have life on it, you thought of it as the current Ecosystem and life in general, so yeah, mankind can destroy that. The worst case scenario is an unforgivable disaster, and I do not speak of it likely, but right after that I said “Another thing that bugs me is that it suggests that humanity would actually let this happen.” I don’t think mankind is that stupid to actually let the worst case scenario happen.
Also it seems you misunderstood when I said “we must change”. I didn’t meant for us to change in a sense to change our state of mind such as realizing that pollution, deforestation and such is bad, we all already know that. I meant that we must (in this case) change our industry such as cutting out all the pollution, deforestation and such.
We’re both on the same page on this; I guess I just haven’t been clear enough.
I just watched the documentary. It’s very good. I’ve watched documentaries like this before, so it was a nice reminder on all of them. If this picture was inspired by this documentary, then you did an almost good job. You see, you didn’t put into the picture the last ten minutes of the documentary that pretty much sum up most of what I was trying to say in the previous comment: Humanity isn’t stupid. We know what needs to be done and that it needs to be done, and that it’s too late to be a pessimist. Your picture is just super pessimistic to me. The only thing I didn’t like about the documentary is that in the first half the narrator spoke to the audience with a tone like she was scolding little children; that aren’t a very good way to make the audience interested, especially me who devoted my life to doing good on a massive scale, suddenly I’m branded no good by a woman that doesn’t even know me.
I wish that the big industrials which are basically in charge of the world industry would take their time to see the documentary. If anyone knows how to get to them should show them this. I'll try to see if I can, you do too.
I don’t think mankind is that stupid to actually let the worst case scenario happen.
Still, the present proves it wrong. No one knows the future, but it's inspired by the present. hmm I see. Well here even if we all already know that, only few take it for real. I still remember all the punks that were laughing with their cigarette in hand and saying "haha Earth yea..." while throwing trash on the streets. I come from a pretty humanely dirty place.
And having visited your page I realized IT IS TERRIBLY CLOSE OMG. Who would have thought. I don't know how is Serbia though.
I think you're the first person to watch the documentary after I recommended it, I must thank you.
Still, I have to mention that "drawing a possible future while referencing all the sides" wasn't my plan. There are millions of apocalyptic drawings on dA, each maybe holding a personal reason like "being attracted by such"; "inspiration" etc. (I don't understand that but yeah ) because there are SO MANY apocalyptic GAMES and movies, the idea of "apocalypse" has begun to give "adrenaline" to humans, like horror games. That's what I thought of while watching few persons & my neighbour while playing apocalyptic games.
But mine isn't at all...that...destructively deep... I mean, I drew a chibi angel
You have a big heart that sees humans beautifully , but I can't do the same for All. The Punks, Politicians, and all the uncaring persons I've had the opportunity to know didn't let me. But that doesn't mean my whole vision is like that, I believe and love persons that try to help and are mostly aware.
The only thing I didn’t like about the documentary is that in the first half the narrator spoke to the audience with a tone like she was scolding little children; that aren’t a very good way to make the audience interested, especially me who devoted my life to doing good on a massive scale, suddenly I’m branded no good by a woman that doesn’t even know me.
She was talking massively, so that persons who up until know had the luxury of not knowing anything (or at least not doing anything while knowing) to move a little bit.
If you feel that way, then it's not directed to you.
I only know of the wonderful petition site, >>>> [link]<<<<< a thing which every part of the globe can take part to. You make a petition and direct it to whoever you want. But the fact that many petitions have failed is the proof of the human arrogance.
" the big industrials " won't care about such thing. They care about their business and money. They'll need a much bigger shockwave to wake them up. They're like that... just how thefts, slavery, famine, wars occur. You said human nature is beautiful and it certainly is, until a certain line is crossed. Also forgot to reply this :
[...] or maybe others don't want to believe me when I say that mankind is not bad, in fact, it's the best! When an animal sees another animal in trouble, his/her first instinct is to ignore it or eat it. Some animals will help others of their kin, while others would torture their pray to death, but I don’t know any other creature on Earth except humans that would consider selflessly saving another creatures life. It’s true that some people wouldn’t do that, but some of us devoted their entire lives to helping other creatures. Humans have evolved naturally with their intellect, while animals have remained or you could even say they're in current adaptation of their medium. My dog gave milk to kitties and protected my parakeet, while she barks at other dogs. How humans and animals have evolved is certainly comparable but both are natural. There, is the part where my mind begins to think "but if humans didn't have such intellect, complex feelings that bring war and arrogant attitude that endangers the planet wouldn't have existed..."
From another point of view, animals are much less hurting to this planet.
You see, we are a very intelligent race, and that is because nature made us that way. Scientists say that if the meteorite didn’t destroy the dinosaurs, the velociraptors would have evolved into an intelligent race like us. If we die out, then another species will evolve into an intelligent race. We are not flawed, or a mistake of evolution, nature intentionally made us, so we must have a purpose.
I believe that it is because the Ecosystem is somehow aware that there are many dangers out there: giant meteorites, the Sun expanding, evil aliens, idk…
We have (or will if we keep evolving) the power to protect the planet from those things. The planet needs us to use our intellect to do good things for the world, in the event that the world falls in such a great danger. Now, we also have the power to do harm to the planet as well, but we do not WANT to do that. As we know, now that we know that we are causing harm we want to fix everything, but it is just a misfortune that now, we are unable to do so because at this moment in our history we are mostly ruled by people who have developed a God complex, or are just plain stupid. That petition site you have showed me is a good example. There are many humans who want to do good things, but they are being pushed back by the decision making, ruling class. This has happened in our history before, and every time we rebelled, so it is only natural that this problem will be dealt with as well, and the planet will be saved. I know this because I want this to happen, and I know that most of humanity is thinking the same way.
I really like the way you think. You remind me of myself, a little bit, when I was your age. I understand everything you are telling me, and I am glad that you understand me, but I think that there is just a little more I must say in order for you to understand me a little better. I guess I can’t expect you too see the world trough my eyes when you didn’t see the things that I saw and you didn’t feel the things that I felt. I grew up in a part of the country that didn’t see any combat, but war is more than just combat. I’ve seen things no child should ever see. I’ve fallen into despair on a daily bases. They did things to me that I’d rather not write about here. I had nervous breakdowns before I even hit puberty. I couldn’t understand why it was all happening, but then I realized that it was happening to others, in fact, it was happening to almost everyone in one way or another, and those that were the source cause of it all were the ones pinning us against each other, and in the same time praised themselves as heroes.
I saw millions of people protesting against them every day. I remember a woman standing in front of a water canon, getting knocked down by it, and then getting right back up. I saw good politicians that were pushed out of government marching with the protesters and holding speeches, even though they knew that the government was assassinating them if they did. I saw my own father, who is the breadwinner of our family, charging barehanded on the police cordons with his friends that also had everything to lose by doing so.
In the same time I watched the foreign news. I saw as reporters, politicians, even human rights activists talked about my people like we were the bane of the Earth. They spoke of us as we were demons, they said that it was the world’s duty to end us, to kill us all for the things that “we” have done. They spoke of us as we were arrogant savages that will newer change. They grouped us all in a single pile: that woman, those people, my father, even me, a 10 year old child, we were all classified as monsters that needed to be stopped.
I saw, felt, ate, slept and breathed the horrors of a world where the inhuman minority oppresses the majority. But I have also seen that world come to an end. I still remember the day when my father kissed me and hugged me tightly, like he will never see me again, and went to Belgrade, with nothing but an overcoat and a sports whistle, to destroy everything that was preventing me from having a future. It was on that day that more people than we thought were left alive in this country, marched to the capital, and in a single day tore down the regime that we all feared, but knew that it needed to be destroyed.
A year latter, 2001, I watched live coverage of the attack in New York. Then, for me, that was justice. I felt like they deserved it as payback for what they did to us. Yes, I too was consumed in the lie that you can bunch up an entire nation in one pile. However, several years later, I came across the work of a brilliant American movie maker. His movies showed me that Americans were people too. They too suffer under a corrupted system that they are forced to love and admire as their salvation. I now see that the whole world is living in one big Serbia. I know that mankind consists of people like my father and me, and that we make an absolute majority. All those punks, politicians, and bad people that you met in your life, and that have destroyed mine, are nothing more than weak people that need to go with the flow of society in order to survive. I have met some of them after a long time; they are now ashamed of how they have treated me.
I do not speak of mankind as one whole, but if there was a mankind that could be called one, it will be the mass of unsatisfied, hungry and angry, yet brave, compassionate and gallant people that we all have the right, desire and obligation to be.
And if you one day see parents kissing and hugging their children goodbye, and marching to a center of power with millions by their side with smiles on their faces and fire in their eyes, don’t be afraid; it will just be true Mankind taking its rightful place as the caretakers of this planet.
If it needs to happen in les then ten years, it will. Not out of want, but out of need! And don’t just look at this as a common spectator; you need to understand that it is also your duty and your honor to march with us, to correct others if they do something wrong, and to remind them of what is important, and most of all, to perform your duty to this world, now and forever. I’ll leave you with these words that I live by:
Don’t wait for someone to do something, do it yourself. Don’t have hope, become what you hope for. What no one can do, you must!
And now, if you will excuse me, I need to go and hug that angel of yours and tell him that it will all be alright.
OMG ! OwO This is amazing artwork ! I'm not sure do I find words anymore after this : D There is a magic, I can almost touch it.
